Our Hurricane Policy
Sometimes it happens and Sometimes it doesn't...
We always hope for the best and at the very least we do hope for a little rain that is usually needed this time of year, but in the event that one of those tropical storms turns into a bona-fide Hurricane Warning, please find our policy here:
Always be safe, but please always remember that the news loves a good sensationalist story. Please bear that in mind. If you ever have any doubts please contact us directly to chat about what's really happening here on the ground because many o' storm dissipates before it reaches beautiful St. Croix.
If St. Croix is under a bona-fide hurricane warning, guests holding a confirmed reservation will be allowed to cancel without penalty. These guests will be offered a full refund or will be able to rebook at a later date. The same rate will be honored, provided travel is in the same season. If guests choose to travel in a different season, the total cost of this year's trip will be applied toward their new total.
Any rebooked reservations must be used within one year from the original travel dates, and the claim must be made within 90 days of the original vacation booking. Guests already in the hotel will not be penalized for any early departure and any unused room nights Sand Castle on the Beach will authorize refund.
Sand Castle on the Beach, with the safety and convenience of our guests in mind, will encourage guests to leave the island early if a hurricane is expected to hit. In the event guests are unable to leave the hotel, guests will receive accommodations at an "emergency rate."
